A short resort ride or a full valley day?

Choose Kara Bulak for a short ride on resort grounds near Bishkek, or Chon-Kemin for two or three hours in the saddle during a full valley day. Chon-Kemin adds villages, river scenery and mountain paths to the journey; Kara Bulak keeps the riding commitment shorter.

Compare the whole day: Kara Bulak charges riding and a companion separately, with hotel transport to arrange. The Chon-Kemin package takes 8–12 hours door to door and includes the vehicle and guides. Start with how long you want to ride, then compare the complete cost for your group.

Kara Bulak: a shorter ride near Bishkek

Kara Bulak Eco Resort offers hourly riding on its grounds in the Tatyr area near Chunkurchak. The resort gives its location as 25 km from Bishkek, at 1,800 m. Arrange a car from your hotel to the resort’s actual pin and a return pickup.

The operator’s page, accessed 16 October 2026, lists 1,000 KGS per hour for riding and a separate 1,000 KGS per hour for a companion. Request a total for your party, supervision and return transport. Specify a short ride on the grounds: the same page also offers mountain routes of five hours or more.

The address is Kara-Bulak Street 2a, Alamedin District, Chuy Region. Arrange your date and riding duration in advance, give every rider’s age and experience, and request helmets and suitable beginner supervision. This short resort ride and the Chon-Kemin GetYourGuide day below are separate outings.

Choose the Atlas KG Chon-Kemin day for 2–3 hours of guided riding within an 8–12-hour trip from Bishkek. The package lists city pickup and drop-off, an air-conditioned vehicle, an English-speaking driver-guide, a riding guide and national-park entry. Leave the whole day free for the drive and valley.

Ride through villages and along river, forest and mountain paths. The operator welcomes first-time riders. Lunch is optional, so budget it separately unless your selected option includes it, and request a helmet before booking. The route leaves out Burana; choose the combined heritage-and-valley day when the tower is a priority.

Match the ride to your experience

For this Chon-Kemin product, riders must be at least 10 and no older than 70, with a maximum weight of 130 kg. Wear long trousers and closed footwear; shorts are prohibited. Bring a layer for wind and temperature changes on exposed paths.

New riders should request a guided, walk-paced outing with a helmet and suitable supervision. Two or three hours mounted can feel substantial on a first ride; choose a shorter Kara Bulak session if you prefer a gentler introduction.

Guided or independent

For the simplest full-day arrangement, choose the listed Chon-Kemin package with transport and 2–3 hours riding. For a tailored pace or valley stay, contact CBT Chon-Kemin at 9 Bapakov Street, Karool-Dobo and arrange the horse route, guide, pickup and return together.

Atlas KG also publishes a separate direct programme of about eight hours with two or three hours riding and lunch. Compare its complete party quote with the marketplace option: the latter lists an 8–12-hour day and optional lunch. Include helmets, rider limits, pickup and return in the comparison. Both riding routes leave out Burana.

For yurts, high passes and several riding days, compare the Song-Kul approach and riding programme. It is a separate mountain trip rather than a shorter alternative to Chon-Kemin.
